Makayla Sherwood is Awakenings Treatment Center’s accomplished Clinical Case Manager with 10+ years of experience, making a profound impact in Canada and California. Holding a Dual Degree in Mental Health and Addictions Work from Canada and a Bachelors in Psychology from California State University, Makayla’s expertise spans various areas, including veterans’ support, disability management, crisis intervention, and addressing medical comorbidities. From working with the Canadian Mental Health Association and The Mood Disorder Society of Canada, Makayla has supported Awakening’s clients for many years.

With a compassionate and client-centered approach, Makayla advocates tirelessly for clients’ well-being, ensuring their rights and needs are prioritized. She excels in seamless care coordination, linking medical and social services to optimize comprehensive support. Makayla’s dedication to her profession and passion for mental health led her to relocate to California, where she continues to grow both personally and professionally.
