AGOURA HILLS, California – Awakenings Treatment Center has announced the promotion of Lauren Wolff, LMFT, as Co-CEO as of January 2023.

“Four exceptional years as Executive Clinical Director, Lauren’s leadership in the development of our LGBTQIA+, Gender Specific Trauma and Chronic Pain programs, as well as exceptional management and leadership of our multidisciplinary team, made this promotion a natural progression in her tenure at Awakenings Treatment Center,” says Dr. Shari Corbitt, Awakenings Founder and now Co-CEO with Wolff.

A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Wolff received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute in California. She soon began working with LGBTQ individuals challenged by mental health, addiction, and physical health concerns associated with HIV/AIDS. Wolff later joined a research team at the UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Institute, focused on the effects of cognitive remediation on people with newly diagnosed schizophrenia.

Prior to joining the Awakenings Treatment Center team, Wolff worked in dual diagnosis residential care as a director and clinician for more than a decade. Where she specialized in trauma and grief, and worked with those challenged by PTSD, addiction, unresolved grief, and shame.

Since joining the Awakenings team, Wolff has provided unsurpassed role modeling for Awakenings. Her compassion and sophistication, alongside 25 years of clinical and administrative experience, formed a foundation for excellence in clinical care.

“She is truly a passionate psychotherapist, especially for those seeking spiritual and psychological recovery.” Dr. Corbitt added.

“It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I accept the generous offer of CO-CEO at Awakenings,” Wolff commented. “The last four years at Awakenings have been an incredible privilege. I look forward to continuing to work with our team of passionate professionals. Together, we will continue to care for our clients as they heal and grow. I want to thank Shari Corbitt for acknowledging my contribution, allowing me to lead and foster our clinical program as we collaborate on our common mission.”

The Awakenings Treatment Center staff consists of 30 specialists providing a wide range of mental health and addiction treatment modalities. These specialists receive regular training and support to ensure they meet the highest standards. Standards required by both state licensing bodies and Awakenings Treatment Center protocols.
